Martin Meyer speaks about Tinnitus and its implications for daily life as well as appropriate coping mechanisms.

Why does tinnitus come into your head? Why won't it leave when you ask it to? What can you do to turn this obstinate troublemaker into a quiet tenant?
Many people with chronic, subjective tinnitus find the ear noise distressing and frightening. Numerous alarming myths and misconceptions contribute to sufferers feeling significantly impaired in their daily functioning and quality of life. Too often, those affected are also told that nothing can be done to help them.
This course will explain the medical background of how subjective tinnitus develops and becomes chronic. Based on current research, we will demonstrate in which areas of life tinnitus can actually be limiting (though not necessarily so) and in which it cannot. Evidence-based treatment methods will be distinguished from approaches that have been proven ineffective.
