How important are caregiver self-repetitions for language acquisition? Caregivers across cultures are self-repeating, but also repeating words the children said. I will study the development of those behaviours and how they develop with child age with a new algorithm to quantify repetitive clusters. I will also study mutual repetitions in common marmosets, a species with complex vocal communication and social organization.
