Contributed talk by Jannik Kochert at DMV
At the largest German mathematics conference, the Deutsche Mathematikerversammlung Jahrestagung 2026, Jannik Kochert presented his talk “Syntactic Trees in Mathematical Linguistics”, in which he introduced syntactic trees as a linguistically motivated mathematical structure. He discussed several mathematically interesting structures, including oriented graphs, rooted trees, and out-trees, before arriving at ordered trees as a mathematical structure that captures the properties of syntactic trees.
