The power of emotions: Judith Burkhard at SRF Einstein

The basic human emotions are genetically inherited. They also exist in the animal kingdom. But do they also have empathy like us humans?

The Power of Emotions

This characteristic, which for a long time was regarded as typical human, has now been observed in animals such as various species of apes. It revealed that they at least show signs of empathy.

Judith Burkhart explores the question of whether the unique combination of great intelligence, which we inherited from our ape-like ancestors, with empathy and social interaction is the reason why humans were able to develop so quickly.
